Dr Schuyler Esprit is Founding Director of Create Caribbean, a non-profit educational institute committed to bridging academic excellence, technological empowerment and civic engagement to help young people build a better Caribbean.

Dr Esprit leads CCC’s Dominica Story Project and co-leads the Creative Repair workstream. She has more than ten years’ experience in university teaching and administration, and has taught academic writing, research methods and Caribbean and postcolonial literature and culture.

She is a Caribbean Studies scholar whose research on the Caribbean has been diverse, bridging Caribbean cultural studies, environmental and ecological humanities, digital scholarship and new media in the Caribbean. Her work has appeared in various academic and popular publications, including Digital Scholarship in the Humanities, Archipelagos journal and Moko Magazine.

Dr. Esprit currently works as the Research Officer for the School of Graduate Studies and Research, The University of the West Indies, Open Campus.
